#100

Happy New Years!!! Today is February 18, 2007 and it is the beginning of The Year of the Pig! I thought this fabric is the perfect square for the 100th square of our 100 Good Wishes Quilt!!!

"To love and to be loved is to feel the sun from both sides." ~David Viscott
This special quilt square is from my Grade One Teacher, Mrs. Folk, who helped me along in my "Learn to Quilt" class! It was such a wonderful surprise that she had enrolled in the same class as I had. We had seven classes together. The fabric has children from all over the world on it in so many beautiful colors. This fabric was part of her quilt that she created at our class. She also wrapped the card in an envelope and tied it with the red thread. Special thanks for this beautiful fabric and good wish!!! It really meant a lot to me!

Thank you God, for this child.
May you grant them their heart's deepest dreams and desires.
May their days be filled with gladness, joy and peace thru any sadness.
Fill them with love that will not depart.

Thanks to Billy, Linda and Abby Hart. They are part of our September Red Threads LID Group and are waiting for their second daughter. This fabric square is covered with Chinese pink and purple fans with accents of gold, white and green on a black background. It is very pretty!

Our wish for you is best summed up in a song by Lee Ann Womack...
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger.
May you never take one single breath for granted.
God forbid love ever leaves you empty handed.
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens.
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance.
And when you get the choice to sit out or dance,
I hope you dance!
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance.
Never settle for the path of least resistance.
Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking.
Loving might be a mistake but its worth making.
Don't let some bent heart leave you bitter.
When you come close to selling out, reconsider.
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance.
And when you get the choice to sit out or dance,
I hope you dance.
Best wishes from Seattle, Washington...

Thanks to Diann and Bill Shields for this beautiful fushia, and orange polka dotted funky fabric square and the beautiful and meaningful song full of hopes and wishes.

"Children are a gift from God...." Psalm 127:3
Welcome Little One!
You trace a soft finger across tiny, sleeping eyes and wonder..."God gave you to me?"
Congratulations -on your new baby! A sweet little gift from the Lord.
Thanks to Catherine Ryan in Ontario for the baby blue and baby pink fabric square. It is very sweet and makes us really think of babies!!!

A Moonbeam
Take a glimpse into the sky
And if a moonbeam hits your eye
Follow it back to whence it came
And dream of a child who'll bear your name.
A little one may look right back
And follow a beam along it's track
And see a mother awaiting the day
In whose arms forever to stay.

Thank-you to our special friends Susan, Albert, Laia, Pol and Tess for the gorgeous fabric square about friendship. On the fabric it says, "Friendship is sewn one stitch at a time." It also says, "True friends are never far apart, each keeps the other in her heart." Thank-you Susan for sending us a fabric square, as well as the Chinese name for Jamie, and the wonderful poem. I especially want to thank you for the additional heart felt letter you wrote to Jamie. It means a lot to me and so does our friendship.

Blessed are THE CHILDREN...for theirs is a world of wonder.
